Designed by White, Scandinavia’s leading architect company, the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre has twice been awarded as energy efficient by the EU Standard “Green Building”. The congress centre boasts glass facades that are 1,040 m2 solar collectors that on average, gather 1 MW of heat energy on a daily basis. This is the equivalent to 90,000 normal low energy bulbs!
The building is also cooled by water drawn from the lake which is stored in 250 ton ice tanks in the basement.
The world-class energy solution that this venue uses is designed to cut CO2 emissions and minimize the impact on the environment and climate change. This approach has ensured that the Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre is one of the most energy efficient buildings in the world.

The Stockholm Waterfront Congress Centre is located between the Stockholm Central Station and City Hall. Escalators right next to the congress centre give delegates direct access to the Central Station, including railway platforms, subway platforms and the airport shuttle train platform.
